FAQ

Women's Hormone & Thyroid Therapy — common questions

Am I too young for hormone therapy?

Perimenopause commonly begins in the late 30s to mid-40s, and thyroid issues can appear at any age. If you have symptoms, you're old enough to have them checked.

Is hormone therapy safe?

For most healthy women, especially when started within about ten years of menopause, current evidence supports bioidentical hormone therapy as safe and effective when prescribed and monitored by a provider. Your provider will review your personal and family history, including breast cancer and clotting risk, before recommending anything. Individual results vary.

Do you offer pellets?

No, by design. We'd rather be able to adjust your dose than lock it in for months.

Can I combine this with weight loss or peptide therapy?

Yes, and often that's the point. One provider, one plan, same clinic.

Will insurance cover this?

We are a self-pay clinic. Many patients use HSA/FSA funds, and financing is available through Cherry and CareCredit.

The details

Women's Hormone & Thyroid Therapy, in full

Hot flashes at 2 a.m. Weight that won’t move no matter what you do. Brain fog, low mood, no libido, hair thinning, sleep that doesn’t restore you. You’ve probably been told it’s stress, or age, or “normal.” Often, it’s hormones — and hormones can be measured, understood, and treated.

Hormones don’t fail all at once. They drift.

Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and thyroid hormone work as a system. When one drifts, the others compensate, and the result is a set of symptoms that rarely get connected to each other: fatigue, weight gain, anxiety, night sweats, irregular cycles, dry skin, joint aches, low drive. Perimenopause can start in your late 30s. Thyroid imbalance is common at every age and is missed constantly because most screening stops at a single TSH.

We don’t guess. We run a full hormone and thyroid panel, review it with you line by line, and build a protocol around what your body is actually doing.

What we treat

  • Perimenopause and menopause symptoms: hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, mood changes
  • Low estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone
  • Low libido and vaginal dryness
  • Weight gain and metabolic slowdown tied to hormonal shifts
  • Fatigue, brain fog, and low motivation
  • Hypothyroidism, subclinical thyroid dysfunction, and thyroid conversion issues (low free T3, high reverse T3)
  • Hair thinning and skin changes with a hormonal cause

Bioidentical hormone therapy, three ways

Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the ones your body makes. We prescribe them in the form that fits your body, your labs, and your life.

Topical creams. Applied daily to the skin. Steady, adjustable dosing and the easiest way to fine-tune. Our most common starting point for estrogen and testosterone.

Oral tablets and capsules. Progesterone taken at bedtime supports sleep and protects the uterine lining; oral options also exist for thyroid and select hormones.

Injections. Precise, consistent dosing for women who want fewer daily steps, especially for testosterone. Taught in clinic, done at home.

Why we don’t do pellets

Pellets are implanted for three to four months and can’t be adjusted once they’re in. If your dose is too high, you live with the side effects until it wears off. Creams, tablets, and injections let us dial your protocol in as your labs and symptoms change, which is what good hormone care looks like.

Thyroid therapy that looks past TSH

Most thyroid care checks one number and prescribes one medication. We test TSH, free T4, free T3, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies, because a “normal” TSH with low free T3 is a very common reason women feel exhausted on a medication that’s supposedly working. Depending on your results, your provider may prescribe levothyroxine (T4), liothyronine (T3), or a combination, and we retest until your symptoms and your labs agree.

How it works

  1. Free consult. Your symptoms, your history, and your goals with a provider who treats hormones every day.
  2. Comprehensive labs. A full hormone and thyroid panel, drawn in clinic. Recent outside labs are welcome.
  3. Your protocol. Bioidentical hormones and/or thyroid medication in the form that fits you, with exact pricing before you start.
  4. Follow-up and fine-tuning. Labs rechecked at six to eight weeks, then as needed. Hormones change; your protocol should too.

Pricing

Because hormone and thyroid therapy is built around you, your monthly cost depends on which medications your labs call for and the form that fits you best — whether that’s a cream, a tablet, or an injection. What we can promise is no surprises: your provider will walk you through your exact pricing at your consult, before anything is prescribed, and you’ll always know what you’re paying for and why.

Your consult is free, members receive a discount, and financing is available through Cherry and CareCredit.
