Botulinum toxin injection — common questions
Which areas should a first-timer start with?
The 11's between the brows are the most common and most forgiving starting point — it's a strong, well-defined muscle group and the result reads as "rested" rather than "treated." Crow's feet are a close second. We'd generally suggest starting with one or two areas rather than mapping your whole face on day one.
Can multiple areas be treated in one appointment?
Yes, and in the upper face it's often better that way — the forehead, brows, and crow's feet are mechanically connected, and treating one in isolation can leave the others compensating. That's why full upper-and-lower-face clients frequently buy the Daxxify vial instead: it's the same visit, and usually the better math.
How many units does an area take?
It varies more than most people expect — masseters in a heavy clencher can take several times what a delicate crow's-feet treatment does, and two foreheads of the same size can need meaningfully different doses. We won't quote a number sight unseen, but you'll have yours in writing before we start, at $10/unit.
Are masseter and TMJ treatments cosmetic or medical?
Genuinely both, and clients arrive from either direction. Some come because clenching and jaw tension are making their life difficult. Others come because a heavy masseter widens the lower face and they'd like a softer jawline. The injection is broadly the same; the goal shapes the dosing.
Does treating hands or feet for sweating hurt?
Palms and soles are more sensitive than the underarm, and we won't pretend otherwise. We use numbing and work efficiently. Most clients describe it as brief and very manageable, and the people who do it tend to come back — which is the more telling data point.

The upper face — where most people start
Forehead lines. The horizontal ones that appear when you raise your brows. Treated well, they soften while you keep enough movement to still look surprised when something surprising happens. Treated badly, you get a heavy, shelf-like brow — which is why nobody should treat a forehead without accounting for how hard your frontalis is working to hold your eyelids up.
The 11’s (glabella). The two vertical lines between your brows. This is the most requested area we treat and the most forgiving one, because the muscle group is strong and well-defined. The result reads as “rested,” not “treated.” If you’re starting somewhere, start here.
Crow’s feet. The fan at the outer eye. If you’ve spent any part of your life squinting into water off the seawall, you have opinions about these. Softening them while leaving your smile intact is the whole craft — and the reason we go conservative first.
Brow lift — $125. A few units placed under the tail of the brow release the muscle quietly pulling it down, and the brow settles a millimetre or two higher. It opens the eye rather than changing it, and it pairs naturally with the 11’s because the same muscle group is doing the pulling.
Nose slimming (bunny lines) — $125. The little diagonal crinkles across the bridge of the nose when you scrunch. Small treatment, disproportionate payoff.
Nose lift — $125. Quiets the muscle that pulls the tip of your nose down when you smile or talk.
Under eye roll — $125. Softens the fine crepe under the lower lash line. Precise work, small doses.
The lower face — the part people don’t know about
Lip flip — $125. A few units at the border relax the muscle that curls your upper lip inward, letting a touch more of it show. It’s not filler and it won’t add volume — it changes how the lip you already have sits.
DAO — $125. The depressor anguli oris pulls the corners of your mouth down. In some faces it’s strong enough that you look mildly disappointed at rest, regardless of your actual mood. Quieting it is one of the more emotionally satisfying treatments we do.
Jaw slimming. A heavy masseter squares off the lower face. Softening it narrows the jawline over time — and it’s the same injection that solves the clenching problem below.
The medical side of the same needle
TMJ / masseters. If you wake up with a sore jaw, if your dentist has mentioned your enamel, if you clench through every stressful conversation — this is one of the more genuinely useful things neurotoxin does. Quieting the masseter reduces the force of the clench. The narrower jawline is a side effect, and most people are fine with it.
Migraines. For the right patient, injections may help reduce the burden of chronic migraine. It’s not universal and it’s not instant, and any clinic promising otherwise is overselling. Worth a conversation.
Hyperhidrosis — underarms, under breast, scalp, hands, feet. Excessive sweating in a coastal Texas climate is not a small quality-of-life issue. Treated properly, this is often the area clients tell us changed the most about their daily life — the shirts they can wear again, the handshakes they stop dreading.
Traptox. Injections into the trapezius for shoulders that sit somewhere near your ears. Popular with desk workers, people who carry stress physically, and anyone whose massage therapist keeps sighing.
Nefertiti neck lift. Along the jaw and platysmal bands of the neck. Softens the downward pull and defines the jaw’s edge.
Pricing across all of it
$10 per unit, same rate every area. Flat-priced treatments are listed above and priced flat because the dosing genuinely is consistent.
If you’re treating several areas — particularly upper and lower face together — check the Daxxify vial at $749 against your per-unit total. For broad treatment it’s usually the better number, and we’d rather you notice that than not.
How to decide
Don’t. Come in, tell us what bothers you, and let an injector who’s looked at a lot of faces map it with you. Half of this list is stuff people didn’t know was treatable until someone asked the right question.
